Two chapters (24 p.) from a book manuscript detailing the author's (Morris "Red" Rudensky) experiences as a prisoner at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and the federal penitentiary in Atlanta, Georgia. Rudensky describes his struggle to educate and rehabilitate himself, the setbacks he faced due to his temper and the violent actions of fellow inmates, and the encouragement and support he received from the prison wardens and from Charles Ward, president of Brown & Bigelow (Saint Paul, Minn.), a former inmate himself.
